The opening will start at noon – from 12 o’clock until sunset, you will be able to enjoy bathing in the sauna free of charge. From 5 p.m. also for free, sauna procedures will be led by a professional sauna master, there will be whisking with birch branches, breathing sessions, and it will be possible to bathe in an ice bath.

According to the sauna hosts, nature is at its strongest in mid-August, the herbs are the strongest, so old traditions invited people to sauna rituals and bathing in open water bodies. In the past, this was not only for strengthening health but was also a thanksgiving for the summer and the harvest, signifying the cleansing of body and soul and a pure welcome to the new season – autumn.

One of the oldest health traditions will be enjoyed year-round by the people of Palanga and city guests.

“I had to read quite a few scientific articles and learn about the benefits of the sauna. I found information that regular sauna visits calm the nervous system, which is very relevant for vacationers coming from big cities to Palanga to find peace. Steam rituals can also help relax muscles, prepare for a calmer sleep, strengthen immunity, and physically and spiritually recover after a heavy workload. And the opportunity to bathe in the cool Baltic Sea after a hot sauna is a magical pleasure. Therefore, we really wanted guests and townspeople to be able to enjoy healthy recreation all year round,” says the sauna founder Albertas Martinaitis.

Studies from sources such as Finnish universities, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Medical Association show that people who regularly visit the sauna even live longer.

“Taking care of health is not a new trend but a conscious lifestyle. Palanga has everything needed for a healthy lifestyle: clean air, fresh sea, and if we could develop the habit of regularly bathing in the sauna, I believe there would be more energy, calmer thoughts, and the physical body would become more resistant to the cold season. The Žolinė period is the perfect time to start such a tradition,” says A. Martinaitis.

Next to the new sauna, there is already a smaller sauna for more private bathing when you want warmth only in your own circle. Both mobile saunas are located next to each other on the seashore between the central Palanga lifeguard station and the seaside terrace “Ošia.”
