According to the Vilnius Film Office, the audio guides will intertwine the city’s history, film behind-the-scenes, and stories about famous international and Lithuanian films and series shot in Vilnius.

Currently, a total of seven different storytelling themes are being prepared.

According to the Vilnius Film Office, the routes will allow visiting places that on screen became 1980s East Berlin, 1940s Hamburg surrounded by rivers and canals, Trondheim, 19th century Vienna, Krakow, southeastern Ukraine, London.

Also 1981 Stockholm, Malmo, Copenhagen, or even the Soviet apocalypse zone and other cities.

“Vilnius has long become an important location for the European film industry, but until now the city did not have professionally prepared film tourism routes. This project allows not only to see filming locations but also to hear stories that turn the city into a living film set,” said Jūratė Pazikaitė, director of the Vilnius Film Office.

According to the organizers, the project stands out because for the first time Vilnius is presented as a European film city through specially narrated, thematic audio routes – such a format of film tourism offering has not existed in the city until now.

On the last spring weekend, two first tours will be presented in live guided walks.
