The Minister of Environment says she plans to restore the Forest Office board

BNS wrote that last July, then Minister Povilas Poderskis stated that the decision to cancel the company’s board was made to achieve changes in this sector.

At that time, speaking about other institutions subordinate to the ministry, I. Andriulaitytė indicated that interviews with candidates for the new head of the Environmental Protection Agency are already underway. In addition, the selection for the head of the Construction Sector Development Agency (SSVA) is planned to be announced soon.

„We do not have a specific date (when to announce the SSVA competition – BNS), but it will be soon. It (…) could be in September, because we definitely do not intend to delay – within weeks,“ said the minister.

Previously stating that she intended to audit the activities of the former ministry leadership and its institutions, I. Andriulaitytė indicated that she currently does not see objective reasons to start an audit, but did not rule out the possibility of doing so in the future.

„Today we do not have objective reasons to start audits, but internal audits are carried out according to the procedure established by law and usual work practice, and if internal audits show certain risks, we will then evaluate and decide whether additional audits are needed or not,“ said the minister.

„We meet with representatives of subordinate institutions, set certain expectations for them,“ she added.

In July, I. Andriulaitytė said she intended to audit the activities of the former ministry leadership. At that time, she did not specify in which areas and what specific audits might be conducted. According to her, this issue was discussed with Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius.
