Dr. Laura Bojarskaitė, a scientist at the University of Oslo, author of the book “300 Questions and Answers About Sleep,” co-creator of the Lithuanian sleep app “MIEGU,” neuroscientist, and sleep expert, explained that dementia is not a single specific disease – it is a syndrome caused not only by old age or genetics.

“Dementia is not a normal part of aging – it is a syndrome caused by various brain diseases, most often Alzheimer’s disease,” the scientist explained to 15min.
