According to him, their identity can only be confirmed after descending to the site, so no further details are provided. Families have been informed.

“One thing we can say for sure. The findings on the slope are connected by a rope – the guys were tied together, and lower down the slope over these days we found items belonging to all three. The group did not separate, they were together and stayed together. No one was left alone on the slope.

Now we have the full picture. At the top, on the ridge, at about 5,400 meters altitude, a fresh detachment zone is visible. All calculated fall trajectories, which we drew based on the found items, converge there, and from it a trail goes down to today’s discovery site. We do not know exactly what happened there and will not speculate,” he wrote.

According to the man, the rescuers’ camp is being dismantled. Next is the review of all filmed material and preparation for the descent operation. The place is dangerous, with rocks and snow sliding, so the risk will be carefully assessed before people enter.

15min wrote that the group of three climbers arrived in Kyrgyzstan on July 20. After obtaining permits to enter the border zone, they reached the start of the route in the Kyzylsu river valley. Communication during the expedition was difficult – their satellite phone did not work, so contact was only possible sporadically. Because of this, the messages sent by the group did not contain exact coordinates.

On August 1, all three climbers reached the Kurumdy summit via the northern ridge, rising to about 6613–6614 meters. The last message from them was received on August 2. It was planned that on the morning of August 4 the group would reach the agreed location where transport awaited them, but the climbers did not appear.

To the Lithuanian media, S. Rubcov’s brother Arturas said that the last contact with the missing Lithuanian was recorded at about 6,000 meters altitude, with the group already descending from the mountain.
