A 29-year-old American has agreed to a contract under the “1+1” formula – the contract is guaranteed for one year, with the option to extend it for another year.

However, the guard will not play for Žalgiris, as he will be loaned to the London Lions team, coached by Tautvydas Sabonis.
The basketball player debuted for Žalgiris in the 2022–2023 season. The point guard, who was one of the best guards in the EuroLeague, managed to play 17 games that season, averaging 15.9 points and 17.4 efficiency rating per game. The player’s impressive season was cut short by an Achilles tendon injury sustained in January 2023 during a match against Istanbul’s Fenerbahçe in Kaunas.
Successfully recovered before the 2023–2024 season, the player played all 34 regular season games in the EuroLeague, posting even better stats – 17.3 points and 18.3 efficiency rating per game. The guard, who played at an MVP level, had his season ended by a severe knee injury sustained in May during the Lithuanian Basketball League semifinals series against Panevėžys Lietkabelis.
Having already started rehabilitation, the player moved to the Piraeus Olympiakos club in the summer of 2024. After missing the entire 2024–2025 season, the American returned to the court on November 9, 2025, playing 20 minutes and scoring 15 points in a Greek league game against Karditsa. Three days later, the point guard returned to EuroLeague action. However, in the game against Žalgiris in Piraeus, K. Evans suffered another Achilles tendon injury, which immediately ended his season.

“During the entire rehabilitation period, I communicated a lot with Keenan Evans, so we know his situation. We know what stage of rehabilitation he is currently in. As he himself says, this rehabilitation is easier for him psychologically – he has been through it before. He pushes himself very hard and is ahead of schedule,” commented Žalgiris president Paulius Jankūnas in a video clip posted on the Žalgiris Insider platform about K. Evans’s situation.
Having signed a contract again with the Žalgiris organization, K. Evans will meet familiar faces in London. The Lions team will be coached for the second consecutive season by T. Sabonis, who worked on the Žalgiris coaching staff while the American played in Kaunas. Additionally, the player is well known to Gintaras Krapikas, who will continue working on the Lions coaching staff and was also part of Žalgiris during K. Evans’s time in Kaunas.
The Lions will also welcome more Lithuanian faces for the upcoming season: the team’s coaching staff will retain long-time Žalgiris youth system coach Vytautas Pliauga and physical training coach Domantas Tautkus. The club’s director is Martynas Purlys.
