Ernesta Vareikytė, Head of Media Relations at “Maximos,” reminds that the already reduced regular prices have been further lowered for these selected fresh food products: milk, butter, sour cream, processed cheese, packaged bread, sausages, frankfurters, and all fresh weighed and packaged pork. “We are not talking about a few individual products, but entire groups – more than half a thousand selected fresh food products. This is the continuation of our new everyday low price strategy and promise to customers that started in spring. The prices of these named product groups have been ‘set’ from the usual prices reduced since March, so from now on they are always like on promotion,” she emphasizes.
“Set” regular prices sometimes even lower than promotions elsewhere
For customer convenience, the new reduced regular prices are displayed on price tags, showing the previous and new regular prices. More than half of the customers visiting “Maxima” stores daily add these products with now even lower everyday regular prices to their baskets.
E. Vareikytė says that regular prices for selected products were reduced to their promotional prices, which were previously offered only for a short time.
She also points out that in some cases, the reduced everyday prices at “Maxima” without promotion are lower than the limited-time promotional prices of other retail chains:
“Each chain chooses its pricing model. While some offer fresh food at lower prices only for a short time – as long as the promotion lasts, we ensure low prices for customers every day. Customers notice this benefit too – more and more visit our stores, and when shopping, they buy what they need here and now because they know they no longer have to adjust to the promotion calendar – low prices await them every day. Such shopping gives customers more freedom or takes at least one worry off their shoulders, being sure that prices are always like on promotion.”
One such example, where the regular or even promotional price in other chains is somewhat higher than the current everyday price at “Maxima,” is the highest quality cooked doctor’s sausage “Premium” (600 g). In another chain, the price of this identical product without discount is 4.79 Eur, elsewhere the regular price is 4.59 Eur, and currently with promotion 3.59 Eur. Meanwhile, the new regular price at “Maxima” is 3.49 Eur.
Who and what costs how much now?
Comparing old and new regular prices at “Maxima,” especially noticeable differences are seen in the fresh weighed and packaged pork sections. For example, the current regular price per kilogram of chilled weighed pork neck without bone and skin is 3.49 Eur instead of the previous 5.99 Eur.
No need to wait for promotions anymore for chilled weighed pork loin without bone and skin – its price per kilogram is now 1.70 Eur lower, i.e., instead of the old regular 4.99 Eur, it is now 3.29 Eur.

The kilogram of chilled vacuum-packed weighed pork shoulder without bone, previously costing 3.49 Eur, now costs only 2.29 Eur – a price reduction of 1.2 Eur or more than a third. The price of weighed pork ham without bone and skin has also dropped by almost a quarter, with the regular kilogram price now 2.29 Eur instead of 2.99 Eur.
In the meat category, the regular prices of “set” products and their processed items – sausages, frankfurters – have also been reduced. For example, the highest quality cooked “Utenos mėsos” frankfurters (780 g) now cost 3.69 Eur instead of 4.69 Eur, and the first-grade hot-smoked “Krakow” sausage “Klaipėdos maistas” (400 g) has dropped by as much as 1.10 Eur and now costs only 1.99 Eur instead of 3.09 Eur.
Lower regular prices have also been applied since last week to butter, sour cream, and processed cheese. 82% fat 200 g “Rokiškio” butter now costs only 1.59 Eur instead of 2.49 Eur, and a liter of natural “Dvaro” milk costs 1.39 Eur instead of 1.69 Eur.
Meanwhile, the old price of a liter of UHT lactose-free “Well Done” milk was 1.09 Eur, and the new price is 0.99 Eur, while the price of a 50% fat 240 g package of processed “Dvaro” cheese has dropped by a whole euro – instead of 3.19 Eur, it now costs 2.19 Eur.
All packaged bread is now cheaper for “Maxima” customers. For example, steamed “Verbūnų” bread (600 g) now costs 1.39 Eur instead of the usual 1.65 Eur, sliced “Well Done” baguette is 10 euro cents cheaper and costs 0.79 Eur, and sandwich bread “Gardėsis” now costs only 1.35 Eur instead of the previous regular 1.49 Eur.
“These are just a few examples for our customers. They can find more reduced regular prices by visiting any of our network stores. It is important to mention that after further reducing prices on more than 500 selected fresh food products, more than 300 of them can also be found in the smallest ‘Maxima’ stores,” adds E. Vareikytė.
