As reported by NBC News, Miami-Dade County sheriff’s deputies arrived at Hilton’s home after receiving a report about a person who was live streaming self-harm actions on social media. Although the officers initially did not identify the person, it later became clear that it was 48-year-old P. Hilton.

People watching Hilton, concerned about his condition, urged him to stop and tried to call for help. The video was later removed from the TikTok platform.
“Page Six” reports that in the emergency call, the incident was described as a possible suicide attempt. At the same time, police officers were also heard urging Hilton to come out of the house and identifying themselves as employees of the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office.
The officers eventually decided to withdraw and continue monitoring the situation after confirming that Hilton was alone at home. Later, he was safely taken from the residence and transported to the hospital.
About 15-20 minutes passed from the start of the live stream until the video was removed. TikTok later explained that the stream remained for so long due to a moderation error. The platform confirmed that the video violated community guidelines, was flagged for removal, and law enforcement was informed about the situation. Hilton’s account was later disabled and blocked.
Hilton’s three children, his sister, and niece left the house just minutes before the live stream began, when the family realized he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis. However, they did not expect that he would start harming himself.
The family stated that this decision was made to protect the children from further trauma. Now Hilton’s children are safe and being cared for by close family members.
Latest information about his condition
A few days after the incident, Hilton’s relatives provided the latest information about his health. According to “Page Six,” Hilton remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act, and his condition remains serious but stable.
The family also reported that Hilton lost a lot of blood and suffered severe injuries. Therefore, he will need surgery in the coming days, and according to relatives, treatment and recovery will be a long process.
The Baker Act, officially called the Florida Mental Health Act, allows for temporary and involuntary hospitalization of a person experiencing a mental health crisis under certain circumstances, especially if there is a serious risk that they may harm themselves or others.
Earlier, Hilton’s family had reported that he was able to communicate, which gave relatives hope. However, in the latest statement, the family clarified that his ability to communicate is currently very limited.
