„We received 2,998 passengers from 23 different countries. The vast majority of them are Germans, numbering as many as 2,812,“ said Romena Savickienė, head of the Klaipėda Tourism Information Center, to the news portal VE.lt.

„Mein Schiff 7“ is one of the newest ships in the „TUI Cruises“ fleet, which started sailing in 2024. This modern cruise liner is considered one of the company’s most advanced ships and regularly sails Baltic Sea routes.
„Mein Schiff 7“ was built in Finland, at the „Meyer Turku“ shipyard.
This ship was christened on June 22, 2024, in Kiel Bay by Fenia Kalachani – the environmental officer of the „Mein Schiff“ fleet since 2020. She was chosen as the representative of the entire ship’s crew.
In fact, many stars from the German entertainment world attended the christening. Among the guests were actresses Andrea Kathrin Loewig, Anja Kling, Yasmina Filali, Sabine Kaack, Cheryl Shepard, as well as Nina Bott, Nova Meierhenrich, and other well-known women.
By the way, during the christening, German singer Ben Zucker also appeared on the ship, and a program of 400 drones and fireworks was held above the ship.
„Mein Schiff 7“ currently uses marine diesel, and the ship was designed so that in the future it could be adapted for the use of methanol, including green methanol. The necessary tanks and piping systems were installed during the ship’s construction.
In the port, the ship can use electricity from the shore. This allows the ship’s generators to be turned off while docked, significantly reducing local air pollution. TUI states that due to this technology, the ship can operate almost without emissions while in port.
The ship is also equipped with a rather unusual organic waste processing system – the waste is thermally treated, shredded, and prepared for further use on land.
„Mein Schiff 7“ has many innovations compared to previous ships in the series: an Asian and sushi restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a traditional café, a new casino, and a newly designed sun deck area.
It is also interesting that the ship was designed from the start as one of the more economical new-generation „Mein Schiff“ ships. It is reported that energy consumption was reduced by 30-40% compared to similar ships.
„Mein Schiff 7“ is longer than three international-sized football fields and has a 25-meter pool. This means that the ship offers not only recreational swimming but also proper training or even competitions.
In its first year, „Mein Schiff 7“ already received the „Kreuzfahrt Guide Award“ in the „Sport/Wellness“ category.
The ship has as many as 12 restaurants and 17 bars and relaxation areas. There is a sauna with a sea view, whirlpool and steam saunas, a salt sauna, an herbal sauna, and even an ice room.
It is proudly noted that representatives from both Hollywood and the German entertainment world have already visited this ship’s deck.
In September 2024, „Mein Schiff 7“ hosted the 30th anniversary party of RTL TV magazine „Exclusiv“ at the Hamburg port. The ship gathered a real crowd of celebrities: La Toya Jackson, Dieter Bohlen, Bushido, Ekaterina Leonova, Cora Schumacher, Hardy Krüger, and others. About 2,500 people attended the event in total.
This is already the 39th cruise ship visiting Klaipėda this year.
„Mein Schiff 7“ is the only cruise ship crossing the gates of Klaipėda port this year that is longer than 300 meters.
Next week, Klaipėda is expected to receive 3 cruise ships: on August 17 (Monday), the 258 m long „Norwegian Sun“ flying the Bahamian flag; on August 18 (Tuesday), the 294 m long „MSC Magnifica“ flying the Panamanian flag; and on August 22 (Saturday), the smallest cruise liner of this season, „Clio“, flying the Maltese flag.
The cruise season in Klaipėda will continue until October 14 this year. On that day, the cruise season will close with the 219 m long cruise ship „Vasco da Gama“ flying the Portuguese flag.
