Wall of Ignorance and an Appeal to the Director
This year, the group “Loud Fish” wanted to perform again at the Sea Festival, but did not receive permission.
On social media, the group shared a video in which they initially addressed the organizers in Russian.
“We really wanted to play at the Sea Festival, but unfortunately, the organizers did not give us permission, and at the last minute, they stopped communicating altogether. Listen, Živile, dear, please answer me. Well, come on, let’s come up with something, we’ll put on a great concert,” said a member of the group.
Although they did not receive official permission, the group assured that their concert would still take place, just in another, unofficial location.

Compromise: No Russian Songs and D. Kubilius’ “Blessing”
A little later, the group published another recording, this time in Lithuanian, in which they explained the situation in more detail. According to them, they had been seeking permission to hold a street music concert since March, but encountered a wall of ignorance.
“Hello, this is the group “Loud Fish”. We received quite a few comments asking why we don’t speak Lithuanian, so let’s talk. Since March, we have been trying to get permission to hold a street music concert during the Sea Festival in Klaipėda, but so far we have not received any specific answer. Our calls were ignored, our emails were ignored, and only when we called from another phone number did someone answer, but again – they gave us no specific answer. During the last conversation, the director of Klaipėda festivals offered a compromise: to give up songs in Russian and coordinate the repertoire with Dominykas Kubilius.
Hello, Dominykai.
We would like to receive some official comment from the municipality and the organizers as to why we cannot participate, what is wrong. We wouldn’t want to end this conversation on a bad note, so I congratulate all Klaipėda residents and beyond on this wonderful celebration, the “Sea Festival”, we wish you many smiles and love, be happy,” “Loud Fish” said in the video.
