M. Alekna reached an impressive 71.98 m on his very first attempt, and achieved his best result of 72.65 m on his second throw.

M. Alekna, who smiled a lot in the sector, exceeded the 70-meter mark with a total of four throws, also recording results of 70.46 m and 71.5 m.
After the competition, M. Alekna thanked the spectators for their support and assured that the atmosphere at Palanga stadium is always magical.

“It’s easy to throw when there’s such support,” said M. Alekna.
His father, Virgilijus Alekna, presented Mykolas with the gold medal.
“I didn’t expect to recover so quickly after the injury, I’m glad everything is going smoothly, and I hope the results will continue to improve. I’m adding centimeters in every competition, so I hope to maintain stability and also throw over 71 meters at the European Championship,” said M. Alekna.
Andrius Gudžius and Martynas Alekna competed for second place. Ultimately, Martynas Alekna (63.20 m) settled for bronze, while silver went to A. Gudžius (63.97 m).
