The duo of Ainis and Rūta already scored the maximum number of points in the first episode. They performed the emotional piece “Insomnia” by Saulius Mykolaitis. In the second episode of “Star Duets,” the participants chose Falco’s song “Out of the Dark,” which earned them 38 out of 40 possible points.

Rūta, who works at two schools, and Ainis, a laureate of the “Golden Stage Cross,” joked at the beginning of the project that they came to the musical show to become famous. However, later they seriously admitted that their goal is to touch on various themes through songs: from love and romance to loss and pain.
The actor says he notices that his and Rūta’s duet is really different from other project participants.
“We stand out because our duet is a mix of incompatible things thrown together. I just want to remind everyone that in this pair, I am the professional performer. But my goal is to learn proper singing from Rūta,” laughs Ainis.
However, the stage partners admit that right from the beginning of their acquaintance, they quickly found common ground, discovered similarities in taste and shared themes, and the budding friendship is reflected on stage.

“Ainis gives me a lot of courage and vitality. I think I will gain these things from him in the project. I also learn life lessons from him. We talk a lot about these things,” says Rūta.
The duo of Ainis and Rūta say they are very happy so far that the audience and the jury understand what they want to convey through their performances.
“It’s very nice to hear that people felt what we planned for them to feel. That is great,” said Ainis after the second performance.
