Violation of the requirements of Road Traffic Rules point 1.32 – horizontal marking “Area marked with Yellow lines at intersections of carriageways” indicates a place where entry is prohibited if there is an obstacle in or beyond it that would force the driver to stop in the intersection.

Untimely entry into the intersection and stopping on the hatched area create obstacles for other drivers and contribute to traffic congestion.

During the two-hour operation at the intersection of Geležinio Vilko and Ukmergės streets, road police officers identified 15 offenders – all of whom entered the carriageway intersection and stopped in the intersection when there was an obstacle beyond it, forcing them to stop and obstructing other vehicles’ traffic.

Administrative offense protocols were drawn up for the offenders under Article 417, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Lithuania.

Such control measures will continue to be carried out in the future, so police officers expect drivers to be conscientious and respectful of each other. Drive carefully, be patient and respectful on the road, police representatives ask.
