The Harmony of French Salt and Park Herbs
On August 11 from 1 PM to 4 PM, a workshop “French Salt with Park Herb Spices” will take place in the inner courtyard of the park’s administrative building (Vytauto St. 15).

Herbal Festival in Birutė Park is a celebration of flavors, nature, and traditions. This year’s Herbal Festival invites visitors to a unique educational event during which French Guérande sea salt will be made, flavored with aromatic herbs growing in Palanga’s Birutė Park.
This is not only a gourmet spice but also a symbolic bridge between France and Lithuania. Guérande salt, coming from the Atlantic coast salt marshes, will merge with the plants of Birutė Park, reminding of the park’s creator, landscape architect Édouard François André, who believed in the harmony of nature and the connection between humans and it.
Every pinch will serve as a reminder that everything around us – the forest, plants, and herbs – can be not only inspiration but also nourishment for our body and soul.
The created salt will be available for purchase and can be used to season your favorite dishes.

The Art of Japanese Ikebana
On August 14 at 1 PM, we invite you to celebrate the Herbal Festival by participating in an ikebana workshop. The sessions will take place in the inner courtyard of the park’s administrative building. The workshop will be led by Laura Fukumoto, who practiced the art of ikebana in Kyoto, Japan, according to the principles of the Saga Goryu school.
Ikebana is an art where the arrangement of flowers, leaves, and branches is used to express the harmony of nature and human nature. This artistic expression can be tried by everyone, regardless of their experience or knowledge level.
During the session, while walking around the park, visitors will get acquainted with the plants and try to create Seika and Heika ikebana compositions using plants growing in the park.

Art Exhibitions
On August 15 at 5 PM, the opening of Monika Dambrauskytė’s solo exhibition “Shell” will take place in the park’s orangery (Vytauto St. 15).
“Shell” is an illustration of human transience. However, transience here does not mean an end. On the contrary – it is a constant renewal, a cycle of death and rebirth.
In the sculptures, the human body and nature motifs intertwine – grass spreads from palms and feet, roots remind of the connection with the earth, and growth becomes a silent metaphor of transformation. The works invite you to pause, slow down, and remember that true changes happen at their own pace.

From August 10 to 17, the park’s orangery will host an exhibition “Growth” by authors Vidūnas Photography and Ineta Sukackienė.
Here, natural elements, inner searches, and a unique perspective on the process of life and creation – growth – intertwine in the works. Visitors are invited to turn their summer walk in the park into an inspiring artistic experience – come in, experience, and allow yourself to grow together with art.
