Ieva, who has more than 75,000 followers on Instagram, does not hide that the train has long become an inseparable part of her travels, according to a press release from Lithuanian Railways.

“On the train, I can relax, walk around, work, or just watch the views through the window. Moreover, some routes are most conveniently covered by this mode of transport. For me, as a content creator, it is important to have the opportunity to film and capture moments of the journey, which would be much more difficult when traveling by car,” says Ieva, sharing recommendations for her favorite routes.
Route Vilnius–Turmantas
“There are also many lakes near Vilnius, but they are often quite crowded, while traveling by train towards Pabradė, Švenčionėliai, or Ignalina you can find much quieter places. There is no shortage of lakes, rivers, hiking trails, and you can go kayaking or mushroom picking,” says Ieva.
It seems that this route is increasingly being discovered by other travelers as well. According to “LTG Link” data, this summer nearly 5,000 more passengers traveled the Vilnius–Turmantas route than during the same period last year.
Route Vilnius–Trakai
“In summer, I travel to Trakai less often due to the large number of tourists. But if I go in summer, I choose a weekday – it’s nice to paddle a pedal boat,” says Ieva. According to her, this route is charming in all seasons. One of Ieva’s most memorable trips to Trakai was in winter when she walked across the frozen lake to reach Užutrakis Manor.
Trakai remains one of the most popular train travel destinations in Lithuania. Interest in this route does not diminish in summer – this year about 8,000 more passengers traveled it than during the same period last year.

Route Vilnius–Klaipėda
Although many choose this route to reach the seaside, Ieva recommends not missing the intermediate stops. Šiauliai became her greatest discovery. “After many years, visiting this region, I saw it with completely new eyes,” she says.
Kretinga also left no less impression, where the content creator recommends visiting the winter garden and stopping by a cozy Greek café. According to Ieva, such places often become unexpected travel discoveries.
Route Vilnius–Warsaw
“I chose this direction primarily for the experience of the train journey itself. I wanted to see what a longer international trip looks like and simply enjoy the process,” says Ieva.
According to her, international train journeys allow slowing down the pace and paying more attention to the journey itself, not just the final destination.
International train journeys saw significantly increased interest this summer – their number grew by 35%. The most popular route led to Warsaw, but for many travelers, it was just the first stop before continuing to Berlin, Prague, Vienna, or other European cities.
