Ukrainian forces launched a massive attack on Sunday night targeting the largest Russian online store “Wildberries” warehouse and cities in the Moscow region, monitoring channels reported.

The mayor of Moscow stated that from the evening until 6:30 a.m. today, 600 unmanned aerial vehicles flew towards the Moscow region, of which 201 were destroyed.

According to the “Exilenova Plus” channel, a fire broke out in the “Wildberries” warehouse in Koledino city near Moscow after the Ukrainian forces’ strike.

Based on the analysis by the “Astra” channel, the “Wildberries” logistics complex is burning in Koledino city. It is the company’s largest warehouse – its area exceeds 200,000 sq. m.

It is reported that a production and logistics complex “Severnoye Domodedovo” also caught fire during the attack in Domodedovo city.

According to “Exilenova Plus,” reports of Ukrainian strikes and air defense system activity were also made in Chekhov city.

As reported by “Kyiv Independent,” authorities have not yet commented on the strikes.

“Times”: Ukraine began using British drones for strikes in Russia

Over the past six months, Ukraine has begun using United Kingdom (UK) drones for strikes deep inside Russia, the “Times” reported on Saturday, citing sources from the Ukrainian armed forces.

The newspaper was quoted on Sunday by the Ukrainian portal “The Kyiv Independent.”

These strikes use the “Nyan” jet drone from BAE Systems, tested by the UK Royal Navy, and another unnamed drone produced by a company kept confidential for security reasons.

Most deep strike missions are carried out using Ukrainian drones, but the armed forces have also achieved significant success with UK drones, said a senior Ukrainian military source.

According to the “Times,” targets hit by UK drones include oil refineries near Moscow, Yaroslavl, and Volgograd.

It is reported that the “Nyan” drone was also used for strikes on the neighboring Russian city of Belgorod, located near the border with Ukraine.

Ukraine regularly conducts strikes deep inside Russian territory and occupied areas: drone attacks target military, industrial, and recently e-commerce warehouses far from the front line in the five-year-long war.

In response to Ukrainian forces using UK drones, Russia may intensify hybrid warfare against the UK, unnamed sources told the “Times.”

A senior defense source added that Moscow has previously directed cyberattacks and espionage against the UK.

One person killed, at least seven injured in Russian strikes in Ukraine

One person was killed and at least seven injured during Russian strikes in Ukraine, officials reported on Sunday.

A woman was killed and six people injured in a combined ballistic missile and drone attack in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the regional governor said.

The city experienced a “combined ballistic missile and drone attack,” local defense council head Oleksandr Vilkul said earlier on the Telegram platform, warning residents that a new wave might follow.

Russian forces struck two industrial facilities in the city, prompting rescue and firefighting operations, Vilkul said.

In Kyiv, officials declared an air threat just before 2 a.m. local (and Lithuanian) time, warning of ballistic missile danger.

AFP journalists in the capital soon heard several explosions.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Kyiv is “under attack by ballistic missiles” and urged residents to stay in shelters.

One person was injured and fires broke out in uninhabited buildings in the Obolon and Holosiiv districts of the capital during the strikes.

Kremenchuk in central Poltava region was also attacked, local officials reported without providing detailed information on damage or casualties.

Meanwhile, on the Russian side, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported a continuous nighttime attack of hundreds of drones on the capital and posted a series of updates for several hours.

Russia increasingly uses long-range missiles in its war against Ukraine, while Kyiv responds with drone strikes deep inside Russian territory, including multiple attempts to attack the capital.

Drone violated Romanian airspace: Spanish fighter jet shot it down

08:50 Updated 08:53

Romania / / AP

The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that a Spanish fighter jet shot down a drone that violated the country’s airspace near the border with Ukraine and Moldova.

The drone, which entered from Moldova, was intercepted by an F-18 aircraft participating in the NATO mission at 5:01 a.m. local (and Lithuanian) time, the ministry said in a statement.

It added that debris fell in an uninhabited area of Galați County, near the Ukrainian border.

The eastern Romanian coast along the Black Sea is very close to areas frequently targeted by attacks.

Since 2023, after Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports along the Danube River on the other side of the border, officials have repeatedly reported drone debris found in Romanian territory.

Last month, Romania shot down a drone for the first time since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, when it entered the country’s airspace about 100 km from Bucharest.

Similar incidents have been reported earlier elsewhere on NATO’s eastern flank, including Poland and the Baltic states.

On Friday, NATO reported that Italian fighter jets participating in the Alliance’s air policing mission shot down a drone that entered Latvian airspace.

Ukrainian intelligence: Russia is already producing more jet attack drones than conventional ones

Production of jet “Shahed”-type attack drones “Geran-4” and “Geran-5” has increased in Russia. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, more of these are now produced than “Geran-2” drones with conventional internal combustion engines, reports the military portal “Militarnyi.”

The number of jet drones used by the Russian military began to gradually increase at the beginning of 2026, with a sharp rise in their use in June and July.

According to the assessment of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Russian industry produces about 3,000 jet attack drones “Geran-4” and “Geran-5” per month and about 2,800 “Geran-2” drones.

It is believed that part of the production capacity was redirected specifically to jet drone manufacturing.

The portal reminds that these drones are produced in the “Alabuga” industrial zone. Meanwhile, “Harpy” family drones are produced at the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant “Kupol.”

New generation “Geran”

The turbojet “Geran-4” and “Geran-5” are among the newest Russian drones developed after Moscow received “Shahed” technology from Iran and further modernized it.

“Geran-4” essentially develops the concept of the jet “Geran-3.” Its fuselage is adapted for higher flight speed, and the engine is more powerful.

The drone’s wingspan is about 3 meters, length about 3.5 meters. These dimensions are similar to the previous version, but the maximum takeoff weight increased from 350 to 450 kilograms.

“Geran-4” is equipped with a Chinese turbojet engine with a thrust of 160 kgf. This is twice the thrust of the Chinese “Telefly JT80” engine used in “Geran-3.”

As a result, the drone’s cruising speed increased to 350–500 km/h, and its flight range to 850 kilometers.

“Geran-5” resembles a cruise missile more

“Geran-5” has a fundamentally different design. Its developers abandoned the aerodynamic scheme typical for previous models.

“In terms of fuselage shape, the new device resembles a cruise missile more than drones with delta wings,” writes “Militarnyi.”

“Geran-5” uses a Chinese jet engine “Telefly TF-TJ2000A” with a thrust of 200 kgf.

The drone can carry a 90-kilogram warhead, and its declared strike range is about 1,000 kilometers.
