Drones attacked Novy Urengoy, located 2.8 thousand km from the border with Ukraine. This is the farthest drone attack during the entire war. The target of the Ukrainian drones was the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where 80% of Russia’s gas is produced.

What happened
After the attack, a fire broke out in the territory of one of the city’s industrial facilities, reported Dmitry Artyukhov, governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to him, there are no casualties or injuries.
The head of the affected company in the region was not named. According to Ukrainian Telegram channels “Exilenova+” and “Supernova+”, the strike was delivered to the Novy Urengoy condensate preparation and transportation plant. It is a Gazprom company that processes a mixture of oil and gas condensate, with a total capacity of 19.5 million tons per year.
What drone could Ukraine have used to attack
A representative of the analytical center “Conflict Intelligence Team,” who asked not to disclose his identity, told the portal “Agentstvo” that the attack could have been carried out using Ukrainian FP-1 drones introduced in June. Their reported flight range is 2.7 thousand km.
The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug experienced a drone attack for the first time. This strike set a distance record during the entire war in Ukraine.
The previous record strike was delivered on July 6 to the Omsk oil refinery, located 2.5 thousand km from the border with Ukraine.
