"TV rescuer" Rūta Filejeva received a shocking call: "The wife asked to take the husband to the forest and lose him"

The “TV Help” team – Rūta Filejeva, Linas Jakštas, Renata Šakalytė-Jakovleva, Toma Arcišauskaitė-Lukošienė, Edgaras Navickas, Paulius Morkūnas, Žilvinas Žitkus, and Egidijus Knispelis – will be ready to help all of Lithuania this season as well.

As Rūta tells, in the face of disaster, people’s faith and hope always reveal themselves. It is precisely this last hope that the “TV Help” team often becomes for many of their heroes.

“And on the other side of the screen, the unity of the viewers is felt. Wonderful Lithuanian people who can unite, show compassion, and extend a helping hand in times of trouble,” says Rūta.

However, she does not hide – over the years, there have been many funny stories as well: “The most unexpected call was when a wife asked to mislead her husband. She asked to take him to the forest and just mislead him so he wouldn’t find his way home. Of course, we didn’t do that (laughs).”

Toma has also received no less interesting calls: “Helping to sell pigs, finding young couples… You won’t find monotony in our work – and the more diverse the requests for help, the more opportunities we have to look for new solutions.”

But some stories rescuers will always carry in their hearts. Renata recalls one such story that happened during a studio conversation. It is a story about a young couple whose dream of living together kept facing obstacles.

“The girl has no relatives, and the boy doesn’t either. They got engaged in our studio, and later we helped them get married. But the story didn’t end there. The girl kept having trouble conceiving – pregnancies ended in miscarriage. Finally, at the end of May, I received news from them that a daughter was born. They sent a photo of the little one. She was born early, but everything ended happily. The girl is growing well, and the parents are doing everything so she lacks nothing. Such stories inspire not to lose hope, and I sincerely rejoice that we could be witnesses to their love and had the opportunity to help them become a family,” Renata rejoices.

Rūta also recalls another especially good example. According to her, this story surprised because… it could not be finished!

“Stories where people need help always surprise me in a good way. Kindness is very contagious – it starts to spread around. For example, we helped a single mother living in Kupiškis install a heating system. But thanks to good people, we couldn’t finish this story because the help… didn’t stop. Besides the heating system, water was brought into the house, a new boiler for heating water was donated, a hot air fryer was given, and money was provided for a new start. Such unexpected story endings are the most pleasant,” she says.

However, as in life, so in the show – not all stories end happily. Last year, Linas, who joined the team, says that family quarrels after the death of parents always pierce the heart. And last year, he had to attend three funerals… These are events that will remain in his life forever.

And if one had to pick the most surprising member of “TV Help,” who would it be? The most frequently repeated answer from the rescuers was… Edgaras!

“Each member of our team knows how to surprise. Although it seems we have been working together for many years and know each other well, there are moments when you sincerely think – wow! For example, recently my studio partner Edgaras shared the news that he completed Forest Therapy studies. I knew he loved nature and liked being surrounded by forests, but I really didn’t expect that he could study it! Overall, Edgaras can surprise because he is one of the most mysterious team members,” Renata does not hide.

Toma agrees – the “TV Help” team not only looks like but is also a tight-knit group!

“We always enjoy meeting. And probably the most we would surprise each other is if we met on a call (smiles). But most often, Edgaras manages to surprise me. A great person (not about height)! His eloquence, life associations found in conversations, sharp humor, and cleverness amaze,” she admits.

The new “TV Help” season starts on August 31, Mondays-Thursdays, at 4:30 PM on TV3.
