Officials stated that the suspect – a 31-year-old Swiss man – was detained and that his motive is under investigation.
Footage broadcast by several Swiss media outlets and social networks shows a man with long brown hair, wearing a black T-shirt and shorts, running in front of the station past a group of children and shouting “Allahu Akbar!” (“God is greatest”).

Three people injured in the Winterthur attack – the sixth largest city in Switzerland, located northeast of Zurich – are aged 28, 43, and 52; all are Swiss citizens, police reported.
“All three were taken to hospital,” officials said.
The Zurich cantonal police said that in carrying out the suspect’s arrest operation, they cooperated with the Winterthur municipal police, the Swiss Federal Railways transport police, as well as hospitals, ambulance, and rescue services.
