In a statement published on its website, Microsoft stated: “The ‘Outlook Lite’ app will be completely withdrawn from circulation and will no longer provide mailbox functions from May 25, 2026. To continue using secure and multifunctional email, we recommend switching to ‘Outlook Mobile’.”
All emails, calendar entries, and attachments from “Outlook Lite” will remain in cloud storage – they can be accessed by logging into “Outlook Mobile”.
Microsoft also confirmed that no mailbox or account will be deleted or canceled when withdrawing the “Lite” app from circulation. The operation of “Outlook Lite” has been partially limited since October 2025 – from then on, Microsoft prohibited new users from downloading it.

What is “Microsoft Outlook Lite”
The app, released in August 2022, was created to increase email accessibility. A smaller-sized app was developed for this purpose, featuring fast performance while maintaining core functions.
It was also adapted to work on all networks, including 2G and 3G connections worldwide. Now all “Lite” features are available and supported in the main “Outlook Mobile” app, making the former unnecessary.
From May 25, “Outlook Lite” users will no longer be able to access their mailboxes through this app, but can log into the main “Outlook” app where all saved information will be available.
