According to one source, oil importers offer to buy Indian gasoline for 150,000 rubles (1,539 euros) per ton or approximately 111 rubles (1.14 euros) per liter – which is twice the wholesale price on the St. Petersburg commodity exchange, where AI-92 grade gasoline cost 77,600 rubles (796 euros) per ton on August 13.
According to Bloomberg data, a tanker with Indian gasoline arrived in Murmansk on August 5. The fuel was supplied by the Nayara Energy oil refinery, 49% of whose shares belong to Rosneft. On July 29, a technical opportunity appeared on the exchange to buy gasoline at the Kola station base, owned by the October Railway in the Murmansk region. However, not a single shipment was sold.
The market regulator requires oil companies to sell Indian gasoline at Russian exchange prices, but importers cite logistical obstacles: the route from Indian ports to the Russian Arctic takes more than a month. In addition, the gasoline has to be transferred from one tanker to another along the way. According to one InfoTEK source, Indian gasoline was initially offered at 130,000 rubles (1,334 euros) per ton, later at 110,000 rubles (1,129 euros). However, so far it remains in the tankers.
Belarusian AI-92 grade gasoline costs about the same in Russia – 140,000–142,000 rubles (1,436–1,457 euros) per ton. AI-95 grade gasoline from Belarus costs 180,000 rubles (1,847 euros) per ton or 135 rubles (1.39 euros) per liter, InfoTEK sources say.
Since the beginning of the year, two Belarusian oil refineries have sent a record amount by rail to Russia – 665,000 tons of gasoline – 25 times more than last year. In July, shipments reached 212,000 tons, Reuters sources previously reported. According to them, Indian oil refineries agreed to supply Russia with approximately 100,000 tons of gasoline.
Lukoil also purchased a shipment of 30,000 tons of fuel from Morocco. It also remains unloaded at the Murmansk port, InfoTEK sources say.
