The conductor Vytautas Lukocius, adorned with a long hair wig, was brought to the stage in an antique car driven by a footman. For the Grand Summer Ball, the VDU chamber orchestra he conducts prepared a concert called “Bridgerton Ball Magic.” It featured many well-known pieces by Sting, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and other famous artists, transformed into refined string orchestra interpretations.

The theatrical concert atmosphere was created by elements from the globally hit series “Bridgerton.” A mysterious hooded rider, young postmen handing out a special event newspaper, and historical dance performers. The climax of the concert was the arrival of Her Majesty the Queen. This role was embodied and made the gathered listeners whisper by Lithuania’s drag queen Edma.

The guests of the Grand Summer Ball continued the celebration in the specially decorated garden of the manor palace for this evening. Here, introductions to the Queen took place, secret fan languages and dance lessons were held, and the most impressively dressed participants of the event were chosen. The curious also visited the “Cabinet de Secret,” which guards the spicy secrets of the aristocracy. In the attic space of the palace, they were presented with a collection of erotic Japanese art “shunga,” lithographs by Peter Fendi, and a collection of manor curiosities accumulated over many years.
