When the performer appeared on stage dressed in a black dress and adorned with a massive diamond necklace, the “Plenitude” arena was flooded with deafening ovations. Already during the first song “On ne change pas,” emotions took over – Céline struggled to hold back tears, her voice trembled and broke from the overwhelming excitement. But soon, as the song “Destin” sounded, the tears were replaced by absolute euphoria.
“I promised to return to the stage. To sing for you. To sing for myself. To sing for life itself,” the singer expressed her excitement, addressing more than 30,000 fans gathered in Paris.
Although her illness is incurable, seeing the performer back on stage is a stunning proof of her willpower and the work she has put in. Of course, the comeback required adjustment. Due to the changed voice, legendary hits such as “Because You Loved Me,” “The Power of Love,” and “My Heart Will Go On” were performed in slightly lower keys. This somewhat softened the usual drama of these songs but in no way meant that her voice had weakened. Where strength was needed, she hit powerful notes, and in songs like “Courage,” dedicated to her late husband, C. Dion let her voice sound fragile, hoarse, and incredibly sensitive.
Not only tears but also an extravagant show
As “The Guardian” reports, those who expected only a calm evening of ballads were pleasantly surprised. Céline returned not only to sing but also to have fun. During more energetic songs, she walked across the stage, demonstrated vocal acrobatics, and even playfully boxed with a backing vocalist.

The audience went wild during the theatrical disco music part, featuring Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” and “Sweet Dreams,” and the arena’s chandelier turned into a huge disco ball. The performer smiled mischievously – she simply enjoyed being on stage and did not hesitate to joke about this colorful, somewhat absurd show. Moreover, wrapped in a pink feather coat and standing on a raised platform against a backdrop of artificial snow, she even performed a complex opera aria, paying an extravagant tribute to Maria Callas.
A triumph that crowned the evening
Although the audience almost drowned out the performer herself while singing the French hit “Pour que tu m’aimes encore,” the most important and emotionally strongest moment of the evening came with “All By Myself.”
It was like the ultimate test for Céline. Approaching the most difficult, powerful chord of the song, she briefly raised her eyes upward, concentrated, and… perfectly hit the note. At that moment, an immense relief swept across her face, which instantly turned into a victorious smile.
Knowing the hell this woman has been through in recent years, and seeing her incredible strength this evening in Paris, that feeling of triumph was completely and indisputably deserved. Céline Dion kept her promise – she returned.
