According to Vita Petrauskienė, director of the Palanga Cultural Center, Palanga does not lack events, especially in summer – there are many both outdoors and in concert halls.

“Among the events organized by the Palanga Cultural Center, I would like to highlight the traditional Sea Fisherman’s Festival in Šventoji, which will take place this weekend – from July 31 to August 2. Visitors will enjoy various activities, attractions, exhibitions, and concerts over three days.

Next week, from August 1-5, the XXXII International Accordion Festival “Palanga 2026” will take place, and we will also listen to concerts of the “Voices of the World” festival. Many well-known Lithuanian classical and popular music performers and jazz musicians will perform at the Palanga Concert Hall and Palanga Kurhaus – Zbignev Levickis, Vytautas Lukočius, Jurga Šeduikytė, Rūta Ščiogolevaitė, Valerijus Ramoška, Felix Zakrevsky, Danielius Praspaliauskis, and many others. Concerts at Palanga Kurhaus take place daily in summer, so even just passing by you can check the program for the evening and drop in,” recommended Vita Petrauskienė.

Musical evenings at Birutė Park rotunda

One of the symbols of Palanga summer is the concert series “Orchestra Summer,” continuing the more than century-old tradition of orchestral brass music in the resort.

“This year we have prepared a very diverse program – from the audience’s reactions, we see that this decision has paid off. From concerts that take you to New Orleans to the most beautiful musicals and film music in the “Sounds of Music” program – listeners spending time by the seaside will definitely find concerts they like,” said Vygantas Rekašius, head of the Palanga Orchestra.

In August, concerts at the Birutė Park rotunda in Palanga will take place on August 1, 6–8, 13–15, 20–22, and 27–29 at 6:30 p.m. According to the orchestra leader, the orchestra music played outdoors can become a cozy evening highlight after a day spent on the beach or walking around Palanga.

All concerts are free, but it is important to consider the weather – they do not take place in the rain.

The summer season will be closed by the Palanga Orchestra on August 30 at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Palanga, where listeners will enjoy a memorable concert “Rhapsody of Light.”

According to V. Rekašius, the guest of this evening is Sergei Nakariakov, a world-renowned trumpet virtuoso living in France, called the “Paganini of the trumpet” by international music critics.

S. Nakariakov regularly performs with the most famous European and US symphony orchestras, appears in prestigious halls, and collaborates with the brightest conductors. Therefore, his concert in Palanga is a rare opportunity for the Lithuanian audience to hear a world-class soloist.

The organizers are confident that Lithuanian cinema evenings are an ideal evening plan for those vacationers who, after a day by the sea, are looking for a quieter cultural evening near their summer homes.

From medicinal herbs to sutartinės

In the last month of summer, the Palanga Resort Museum has prepared an interesting program. In August, museum staff will invite visitors not only to visit the exhibitions but also to learn more about Lithuanian traditions and nature. On August 7 at 4 p.m., there will be a lecture and education about medicinal herbs by Giedrė Bružienė. Participants will be able to get closer acquainted with plants, their properties, and traditional uses.

The next day, August 8 at 2 p.m., Justina Joana’s education about sutartinės will await at the museum. This is an opportunity to enrich a summer trip with an acquaintance with one of the most distinctive Lithuanian musical heritage traditions.

The end of summer in Šventoji will be accompanied by the roar of motorcycles

For vacationers who will have had enough of peace at the end of August, Šventoji is preparing a pleasant surprise – from August 26 to 30, the beach biker festival “Beach Bike Fest” will take place near the Šventoji sea port, on Prieplaukos Street.

So in the last days of August, this part of the seaside should sound not only from the sea waves but also from motorcycle engines.
