Sonata Gutauskaitė-Bubnelienė will become the head of SEB in the Baltic countries

From September 1, Niina Aikas (Nyna Eikes), who has led the Baltic countries, will be replaced and will become the head of the SEB unit in Finland, the bank announced.

Appointments still need to receive approvals from supervisory authorities.

“During more than 25 working years in the SEB group, Sonata has demonstrated strong leadership skills in our organization in the Baltic countries, successfully led the bank’s operations in Lithuania, achieved excellent results, and implemented important changes,” said SEB Group President and CEO Johan Torgeby.

S. Gutauskaitė-Bubnelienė has been the head and chairperson of the board of SEB Bank in Lithuania since 2021, and she will continue to hold these positions during the SEB banks’ Baltic countries merger process.

She joined the SEB group in 1999 and has held various senior management positions, including head of SEB Baltic countries retail banking.

N. Aikas has been leading the SEB Baltic countries service since 2021 and has been a member of the SEB Group Executive Committee since then. She joined SEB in 2008 and has held several senior management positions in the bank, including head of the large corporate unit in Finland and SEB head in Shanghai.
