V. Romanov installed this busty monument on his three-story mansion.

The 78-year-old Lithuanian and Russian billionaire lives in Mytishchi, about 24 km from Moscow, Russia, Record reports.

This area is considered popular among wealthy residents looking for spacious homes near the Russian capital.

V. Romanov, former owner of Scottish Premiership club Heart of Midlothian, commissioned the eye-catching sculpture, which was erected above the columns of the pink, white, and dark brown brick mansion.

Defending his peculiar design choice, the former banker stated that the giant lion-bodied structure was created to honor his medieval ancestor Ivashka Romanov, who allegedly fought as a knight in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

He said:

“I started delving into the past and realized that there is nothing better than immortalizing the history of my ancestors in the form of a Sphinx.

It had to be convincingly large and convincingly beautiful.”

Despite mocking onlookers gathering at the guarded gates, the eccentric magnate insisted that the large-breasted Sphinx perfectly reflects his personal interest in ancestral heritage.

Social media users focused mainly on the eclectic combination of the statue’s Egyptian motifs and typical suburban architecture, with some criticizing the overly emphasized breasts.

Local officials have not yet confirmed whether this expressive roof decoration violates building regulations or public decency standards.

The controversial businessman V. Romanov fled to Russia in 2013 after the collapse of Ūkio bankas. He later received political asylum to avoid international arrest warrants.

At the same time, after eight years of ownership, he also lost control of the Hearts club.

In 2006, Hearts won the Scottish Cup and finished second in the league.

The billionaire also owned the Lithuanian football club FBK Kaunas and the basketball club Žalgiris.
