“So you didn’t come to me at the prosthetics center, buddy. Until then, we had met several times at my hospital in Kyiv – you would charge with your wild energy. You set an example and were a true Spider-Man with a prosthesis. You couldn’t just sit on the sidelines. You were and will remain powerful, little one.

Despite his young age, Zheka was a senior sergeant, commander of a drone squadron; after a severe injury, he returned to the ranks… Today it was confirmed that marine infantryman Yevhen Minzhener died. I love you, brother,” noted his friend J. Hrubichius.

“Levitate Ukraine” – representatives of the Ukrainian company producing prosthetics noted that Yevhen truly loved life.

“He was incredibly energetic, always moving, with character, strength, and that special thirst for life that is impossible to miss. He was part of ‘Levitate,’ our friend and a person we sincerely admired. We are very saddened to lose him,” said the company representative.

What is Yevhen’s story

In May 2026, representatives of the rehabilitation center “Unbroken Ukraine” told Yevhen’s story. It was reported that the young man was born in the Kherson region but moved to Turkey during his school years. The large-scale war began when Yevhen was 17 years old. He said he was shocked by photos from the de-occupied Bucha and information that the defenders of Mariupol had been captured.

When the young man turned 18, he came to Ukraine and joined the army. In March 2023, he joined the 38th Separate Marine Brigade, where he became a drone operator. On April 10, 2025, Yevhen was injured during an enemy drone attack.

Yevhen lost a leg but after treatment, prosthetics, and rehabilitation, he returned to the front. In November 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the defender a state award – the Cross of Military Merit.
