As every year, the geography of the exhibition participants is very broad. This year in Vilnius, drinks will be poured by representatives from Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Oceania.
Visitors to the exhibition will be presented with nearly one and a half hundred types of beer by the brewers visiting the event – 70 of them will be presented on the first day, and the remaining half on the second day of the event. The vast majority of these craft beer types are not sold in Lithuania.
This year, the participants and guests of „Putoja“ will be welcomed by the event theme „Forbidden Fruit“. According to the exhibition organizers, this is intended to draw attention both to the difficult daily life of these drink creators and to how sometimes their brewing dream seems unattainable.
One of those who have successfully realized it are representatives of one of the most awarded Latin American brewers – „Cerveza 7 VIDAS“ from Peru. The brewers of this brewery employ a modern craft beer brewing method in their creations and use unique Peruvian ingredients in their recipes.
The fruits of the Peruvian brewers’ work have been recognized with more than 260 national and international awards. According to Marco Malaga, the head of the brewery founded in 2014, the path to recognition was long and difficult.
„At first, there was everything – the brewery construction even stalled due to lack of funds,“ said M. Malaga. „In 2015, the brewery founders invited me because I had a lot of brewing experience. Since then, we have steadily grown and become the most well-known craft beer brewery in Peru.“
M. Malaga himself manages two breweries – „Cerveza 7 VIDAS“ and „OKCIDENTA“ located in Argentina. The man who has been creating and brewing beer for 33 years claims that doing what he loves and making a living from it is a dream he dedicated his life to fulfilling.
„I deliberately aimed to be who I am now and do what I do now – I worked at the first modern craft beer brewery in Peru, studied brewing at a university in California, then worked for 14 years at one of the largest breweries in the USA, and finally left it to work on my own brewing projects,“ the Peruvian said.
Currently, one of the most successful Latin American brewers, M. Malaga aims to further improve beer quality worldwide.
„I want to continue being part of those creating a new path for beer worldwide,“ he said. „When brewing craft beer, the possibilities for creativity are practically unlimited. You can revive and use ancient techniques, explore and use ingredients that are usually not used in beer or food production, employing engineering and science for that.“
Calling the craft beer community a big family, M. Malaga eagerly looks forward to meeting Lithuanian enthusiasts of this drink, the opportunity to get acquainted with Lithuanian culture, food, and people, who will be warmly welcomed at one of his breweries in Peru.
Visitors to the „Putoja“ exhibition will be able to meet not only M. Malaga but also many other brewers coming from Japan, China, the USA, the Faroe Islands, New Zealand, and other distant and not so distant countries around the world.

The organizers of the exhibition, which will take place at the „Dūmų fabrikas“ located in Naujoji Vilnia, invite you to travel to the event by public transport – the 6G express bus or train.
It will also be convenient to return to the city center by train after the event – on both days, special late „Putoja“ trains will run from the Naujoji Vilnia railway station to the central Vilnius railway station after the exhibition events, which visitors can use free of charge.
