“Right at the beginning of the meeting, I would like to note that the situation of the country’s economy, economic sectors, especially the main sectors, is stable, even despite external attempts to destabilize the situation in the fuel and energy sector and some other areas,” V. Putin said.
“At the same time, I would like to emphasize once again – the difficulties we face in the fuel market are undoubtedly temporary and cannot affect the overall economic dynamics,” the Kremlin leader stressed.
According to him, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development, “the gross domestic product of the Russian Federation grew at a slow pace in May, but nevertheless grew – it is in the positive zone (0.3%), and in total over the five months of this year, growth amounted to 0.2%,” he justified.
“One of the main factors here, of course, is domestic demand – from the state, from business, and from citizens,” V. Putin continued.
“First results”
On the “Vesti” program, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that government measures aimed at stabilizing the fuel market are yielding results.
According to him, fuel supply restrictions are already being lifted in some regions, the number of operating gas stations is growing, and queues are reportedly shortening.
“We see that these measures are yielding results and the market is already partially stabilizing, restrictions are being lifted in many regions, which is evident from the number of operating gas stations and decreasing queues,” he said, although there is no evidence of this yet.
A. Novak explained that measures related to the ban on oil product exports, market supply with imports, as well as increasing production volumes and postponing refinery repair deadlines had a positive effect. However, he had to admit that the situation remains tense in some regions.
“Of course, the situation remains tense in some regions today, so today we discussed how to supply these regions with oil products,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
He added that special attention is currently being paid to supplying farmers, given that harvesting is currently underway.
