“Culture and education determine how we perceive our country and how strong our commitment to it is. And commitment is also the will to defend,” said the prime minister at the conference “Universal Defense: The Role of Culture and Education” that began on Friday.
“Today in Ukraine, we see that Russia is targeting the Ukrainian cultural identity, history, and heritage no less fiercely than military and civilian objects, energy, or transport infrastructure. Therefore, downplaying the importance of culture and education for national security would be a critical mistake,” he said in his welcoming speech.
