It is estimated that about 50 million euros per year would be needed for such compensations.
“Lithuanian manufacturers and service providers compete globally. Relatively high electricity prices are a major challenge to their competitiveness. This challenge will be gradually overcome by the further development of own and cheaper electricity generation capacities for Lithuanian industry. For now, it is important to provide companies with high electricity consumption the opportunity to temporarily and repayably reduce tariffs,” the president said in a statement.
