Dairis Bertanis confirmed that he is turning a new page in life.
Last November, he played his last game for the Latvian national team, representing them in a World Championship qualifying match against the Netherlands.

Last season, the 193 cm tall guard still played for Riga VEF, and in the summer became the sports director of the Latvian national team.
“The last game has already been played. That was my goal – the last match in the national team, after announcing the end, was a very emotional event, it would be impossible to repeat,” D. Bertanis said on “Sporta studija.”
During his career, he represented several Latvian clubs, as well as two Spanish teams, and appeared in the EuroLeague with three teams.
With Istanbul’s Darüşşafaka, Milan’s Olimpia, and Khimki, the Latvian played in the elite European tournament, scoring an average of 6.1 points per game in the EuroLeague throughout his career.
In the 2018-2019 season, D. Bertanis stepped into the NBA, playing 12 games for the New Orleans Pelicans, scoring an average of 2.8 points there.
D. Bertanis played for the Latvian national team from 2010 to 2025, playing a total of 159 games and participating in five European and World Championships.
His younger brother Davis Bertanis, who moved from the NBA to the Dubai club, is still continuing his career.
