“Everything is fine. Of course, the officers woke the family up in the morning. They arrived, checked if there were any additional documents needed for the investigation, took the phone and computer. The searches were conducted politely, the officers did their job,” the politician told LRT radio on Tuesday.
Searches were conducted at the homes of five of the 11 board members of “Aušra” and members of the Seimas – R. Puchovičius, Kęstutis Bilius, Lina Šukytė-Korsakė, Tadas Sadauskis, and Daiva Žebelienė.
The Prosecutor’s Office stated that such actions were taken while conducting a previously initiated pre-trial investigation regarding the circumstances of car rentals to “Nemuno aušra”.
“No suspicions were brought against me because my car was not rented out, they are probably just gathering information. Nothing miraculous happened,” R. Puchovičius insisted.

The searches were carried out by the Financial Crime Investigation Service.
During this investigation, searches were also conducted in May at the workplaces, homes, and party headquarters of the “Aušra” leader Remigijus Žemaitaitis and party board member Daiva Petkevičienė.
The investigation is being conducted to determine whether a crime was committed by R. Žemaitaitis and D. Petkevičienė by renting out their cars to the party and simultaneously using these cars themselves.
