It is stated that there are 11 candidates in total who could replace O. Syrskyi.
According to sources from “LIGA.net”, a meeting of the Supreme Commander’s staff is planned for Monday, during which this issue will be discussed.
Member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Jaroslav Železniak reported that he received similar information from his sources, although he does not yet have final confirmation, especially regarding who exactly could replace the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the politician’s data, among the possible candidates are indeed the names of A. Bileckis, M. Drapat, O. Apostol, I. Obolenskis, and the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Volodymyr Horbatiuk. According to unconfirmed rumors, O. Apostol has the greatest chances.

Meanwhile, the president’s advisor Dmytro Litvyn, responding to journalists’ questions, reported that new appointments are probably not to be expected on Monday evening.

According to him, the information that the staff will consider the appointment of a new chief commander is incorrect. He stated that the staff is not intended for this purpose; it discusses requests from corps commanders regarding supplies and “some less important organizational decisions.”
In turn, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied the information about the dismissal of the chief commander. The institution’s statement says that the data appearing in the information space, especially on social networks and some media, about the alleged dismissal of General O. Syrskyi from his duties does not correspond to reality.
It is stated that he continues to serve as the commander of the armed forces, as does the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Andrijus Hnatov — in their functional duties. The General Staff reminded that dismissal from these positions occurs based on a presidential decree.
