Mantas Jankavičius starts this summer exceptionally: "I wanted to show"

“The sun is yellow and shines equally for all of us, but in my creative work, I’m always interested in moving a little away from reality. Sometimes I want to see the world from a different angle. In my creative world, the sun can also be purple,” the artist smiles.

Along with the song, a music video filmed in the Anykščiai district is also presented. In it, a motorcycle journey becomes a metaphor for freedom, adventure, and constantly changing life.

According to M. Jankavičius, the video tells not only about a physical journey but also about an internal and creative one, where the most important thing is not the destination, but the journey itself.

“I wanted to show that a journey is not just about the distance traveled. It can also be internal – constantly changing, full of discoveries, surprises, and adventures. And a motorcycle has always been associated with freedom for me. When you ride, you feel the wind, you concentrate on the moment, and your head clears very quickly,” says the artist.

The video was filmed in the Anykščiai district – in areas where one of the “Journey” tour concerts will also take place this summer. According to M. Jankavičius, this region was not chosen by chance.

“A concert of this scale near Puntukas Stone is being organized almost for the first time. We wanted the video to reflect the atmosphere and beauty of this region. It is one of the most impressive places in Lithuania, worth experiencing live, and a concert in such an environment becomes an even stronger experience,” he says.

It is no coincidence that “Violetinė saulė” (Purple Sun) also becomes the symbolic start of the “Journey” concert tour. The tour, lasting all summer until mid-September, will invite listeners to exclusive Lithuanian locations – from Anykščiai to Kaunas Yacht Club, from Nida’s Valley of Silence to Gediminas Hill. Some concerts will also feature unexpected musical experiences, including performances using wireless headphones.

“This piece is a summer start for a special concert phase for me. I want people, when listening to the song or watching the video, to feel the summer mood. After all, summer is about the sun, freedom, love, being together, and the opportunity to enjoy the moment, at least for a short while,” says M. Jankavičius.

The music video was directed by Eimantas Belickas, the artist’s long-time friend and creative partner.

“Working with people who are professionals in their field and who together create an atmosphere of ease is a huge gift. Then everything happens naturally, and works are born that you want to share with the audience,” says M. Jankavičius.
