“The General Staff of the Armed Forces wants to announce that any sounds of explosions heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting these hostile attacks,” the military posted on the social network “X”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs later stated in a released message that it “holds Iran fully responsible for these terrible attacks.”
The state news agency KUNA reported that air raid sirens sounded throughout the Persian Gulf state, which is a US ally. The attacks occurred despite the existing US-Iran ceasefire.
Soon after, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared that it struck a base used by the US military for attacks on Iranian territory.

The location of the base was not specified in the Guard’s statement, which was broadcast by IRIB and other state media outlets.
The US military announced that over the weekend it delivered “self-defense strikes” on Iranian radars and drone control facilities in southern Iran. This is the third such wave in just over a week.
The strikes were in response to the downing of a US MQ-1 drone, the military added.
