The police are investigating the tragedy that occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the Roses resort in the province of Cheronos, according to “Mirror”.

The police reported that a man riding a jet ski died in a collision. The person operating the boat was detained on suspicion of negligent homicide. The deceased was a 54-year-old Frenchman. The detainee is also French, aged 52. The incident occurred around 16:45. It is reported that the boat, which collided with the jet ski (ridden by a father and son) near the Santa Margarida area, had between 8 and 12 people on board.
After the incident, emergency services rushed to the scene with substantial forces. The maritime rescue service, paramedics, an air ambulance helicopter, two ground ambulances, as well as local police and Spanish Civil Guard officers arrived at the scene.

Rescuers found the jet ski and began resuscitating the injured man on the rescue boat. Later, he was transported to shore by the rescue boat. Medics made every effort to help the severely injured man, but he died from his injuries. His son was unharmed; the people on the other boat were also unharmed.
The criminal police unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision. Statements were taken from the passengers of the recreational boat and the deceased’s son. All persons involved in the incident – including the boat crew members and the deceased’s son, who was driving the jet ski – are undergoing sobriety and drug tests.
