A pre-trial investigation has been launched regarding possible illegal access to the Register Centre’s information systems and large-scale data leakage from the Real Estate Register.
The investigation is being conducted by the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau, examining the circumstances of possible cybercrime.
Preliminary data suggests that more than 600 thousand register extracts may have been illegally appropriated, with damages estimated at at least 111 thousand euros.
The General Director of the Register Centre, A. Jusas, left his position shortly after the investigation circumstances became clear. He had led the Register Centre since June 2023.
Currently, the company is temporarily headed by the Head of the Prevention Department, Giedrius Cininas.
According to the Register Centre representative Mindaugas Samkus, he should hold this position until the institution exercising the rights and duties of the company owner, i.e., the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, appoints a new General Director of the company.

Register Centre: severance pay was not given
The Register Centre confirmed to 15min that A. Jusas resigned voluntarily, so no severance pay was granted to him. This information was first published by LRT.
Also, M. Samkus told the portal that no additional agreements regarding financial payments or other guarantees were made with the former director.
According to the Register Centre, the General Director’s salary was 12,815 euros (gross), or about 7,360 euros net. Compared to the previous quarter, it increased by about 2%.
