These plans were announced to journalists by a high-ranking Israeli official who wished to remain anonymous. According to him, the new aircraft could acquire capabilities similar to the American F-35 fighter, which is currently one of the most modern combat aircraft in Israel’s arsenal.
Other countries may also join the project implementation, but details of possible international cooperation are not yet disclosed.

According to the agency’s source, the Israeli government is also preparing a long-term plan to gradually reduce dependence on US military aid.

It is expected that over the next decade the emphasis may shift from direct US financial support to joint weapons development and production programs.
As the agency notes, the impetus for this was given by changes in the political situation in the USA. Israel’s war with Iran and the military campaign in the Gaza Strip have intensified discussions in Washington about further American arms supplies to Israel.
In this context, the Israeli government seeks to expand the country’s capabilities to produce modern military equipment.
