“As the population ages and the demand for social and care services grows, it is important to ensure that the necessary help is more accessible, provided in a modern and human-needs-adapted environment. Upon project completion, district residents will have better opportunities to receive quality long-term and short-term care services closer to home,” Š. Čėsna said in a comment to BNS.

In the care home, covering almost 2.9 thousand square meters, it is planned to install a physiotherapy hall, music and aroma therapy rooms, a salt room, and a digitized patient monitoring system.

The infrastructure will be adapted for people with various disabilities, according to the municipality’s press release. According to the city, this will reduce dependence on external service providers and create new jobs.
