The agreement, known as the Islamabad Agreement Memorandum, was reached with the mediation of Iran’s neighbor in the Persian Gulf, Qatar, and its eastern neighbor Pakistan, with negotiations taking place in Islamabad.
The memorandum included agreements on the Strait of Hormuz and the renewal of diplomacy between Tehran and Washington aimed at a broader agreement.
It also called for an end to hostilities in Lebanon, where Israel is fighting the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.
