Here is what happened
Flight AK1516 from Kota Kinabalu took off on August 18 at about 10:30 PM and was supposed to land in Shanghai at about 3 AM. About 40 minutes before landing, passengers noticed a terrible smell, which even woke many of them up from sleep.
