When Mykolas Alekna suffered a severe injury during training in March and his chest muscle tore, it was estimated that his return to major sports would take place after six months or even later. However, after just three months, Mykolas Alekna made an impressive comeback to the athletics sector and threw the discus 70 m 50 cm in a competition in Estonia. Soon after, the Lithuanian triumphed at the prestigious Diamond League stage in Eugene (USA) with an even more impressive result – 71 m 6 cm.

“Such a quick recovery was due to the fact that I decided to return to Lithuania immediately after the injury and start rehabilitation here. I devoted a lot of attention to rehabilitation, working on it for several hours every day. I also worked a lot with coach Mantas Jusius. Because of this, I managed to quickly return to the highest level,” said Mykolas Alekna.
