A small aircraft, for reasons still under investigation, lost altitude and crashed into the roof of a single-family house in a residential area of Ganderkesee, Lower Saxony, police in the nearby city of Oldenburg stated.

According to police, there were two people on board the plane. One person died when the aircraft crashed into the roof, and rescue services were searching for the missing person, the German news agency DPA reported.

A team of specialists was called to the scene to provide assistance to people who directly witnessed the incident or were near the accident site. Residents living within a 100-meter radius of the crash site were evacuated from their homes.
For safety reasons, the electricity supply was temporarily disconnected throughout the entire road section where the house is located.
