„Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds“: a concert journey that has been growing for almost two years arrives in Vilnius

The concert of „Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds“ taking place on the evening of August 18 in Kalnai Park will be one of the last concerts of the band this summer in Europe. However, the story of this show is much longer.
The „Wild God“ tour began back in September 2024 in Germany, later moving to North America, Australia, and New Zealand, and this summer the band returned to major European outdoor stages and festivals.
About what this journey has become for the band itself, Nick Cave wrote very openly earlier this year. According to him, from the first concerts of the „Wild God“ tour, the band moved towards a state that was ultimately reached on stage – an energy that was „primitive, bodiless, exalted“.
This perfectly describes the current „Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds“ concerts, where Nick Cave balances above the audience, conducts the crowd, and behaves during each performance as if he were playing the most important concert of his life.
Vilnius will be one of the last opportunities in Europe to see a program nurtured for almost two years. Here, different periods of Nick Cave’s creativity will meet – from „Red Right Hand“, „Into My Arms“, „The Mercy Seat“ to the latest „Wild God“.
After the mourning, loss, and existential questions that dominated previous albums, „Wild God“ brings more ecstasy, togetherness, and unexpected joy. And it is precisely in live concerts that this music has gained another dimension.
„Wolf Alice“ – a new generation of British music
Vilnius will not have much time to recover after Nick Cave’s concert. Already the next evening, on August 19, „Wolf Alice“ will perform at Lukiškės Prison 2.0 – a band that probably arrives in Vilnius at the highest point of their career.

At the BRIT Awards held this February, „Wolf Alice“ was named Group of the Year. And this is already their second such award – the band won the same category in 2022.
„Our peers came and went. We are still here,“ said drummer Joel Amey last year about the band’s journey.
It is hard to fit one of the most magnetic representatives of the contemporary rock scene, „Wolf Alice“, into a genre. Over their career, the band has played everything from indie rock and shoegaze to grunge, dream pop, electronics, folk, glam rock, and psychedelia. But it is precisely their live performances that best explain why „Wolf Alice“ has grown from clubs to major festivals and arenas.
Luvcat – a name worth remembering
Even before „Wolf Alice“, Luvcat will perform on the Lukiškės Prison 2.0 stage – Sophie Morgan Howarth and her dark, theatrical alter ego.
„All my songs are born from very personal experiences,“ the artist has said.
In Luvcat’s music, alternative rock, dark pop, cabaret aesthetics, and romance meet. The project’s name itself was born from the recently released song „The Lovecats“ by the band „The Cure“ in Lithuania, and among the artist’s early musical influences are Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and, of course, „The Cure“.
Two nights Vilnius will not forget for a long time
One evening – a music icon who has been creating his own rules for more than four decades, Nick Cave with the band „The Bad Seeds“. The next – a band today called one of the most important British rock groups of their generation – „Wolf Alice“.
