“Palm Beach”, located in Northern Malta on the coast of Armier Bay, is known for its golden sand, clear water, and panoramic views of Comino and Gozo islands. Usually a place for peaceful relaxation, on August 9th it will turn into an open electronic music stage with an exceptional view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The festival program will start in the afternoon, continue as the sun sets, and end at midnight. The main guest of the event is Ukrainian DJ and producer Korolova, well known to electronic music listeners for her melodic house, techno, and progressive house sound.
Alongside her, “Zamna Soundsystem”, Hilde, and representatives of the Maltese electronic music scene Mux and Braynod will perform on stage.
The origins of the festival – in the jungles of Mexico
The story of “Zamna” began almost a decade ago – in 2017 in Mexico, Tulum. This Caribbean coast area previously attracted travelers with white sandy beaches, Mayan heritage, and lush jungles, but over the last decade it has also become one of the world’s most prominent electronic music hubs. All thanks to the “Zamna” festival, whose organizers from the start aimed to create not just ordinary concerts, but an experience where music merges with nature, lights, scenography, and the latest technologies.
The first festival space in Tulum was set up amidst the jungle, where the natural vegetation became part of the stage. The “Zamna” aesthetic also showed connections to the region’s culture and Mayan symbolism.
For some visitors, the “Zamna” experience itself became the purpose of the trip – similar to other global events where the audience chooses not only the program but also the location, environment, and community.
One of the festivals also took place among the Giza pyramids
From the jungles of Tulum, “Zamna” gradually moved to other cities and resorts around the world. In less than a decade, festival events have reached more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, North and South America, and many different cities, including Giza in Egypt, where festival enthusiasts danced with an impressive view of the pyramids.
Today, “Zamna” is no longer just an annual festival – it is an international event series whose formats and scale can vary depending on the location – from jungles and beaches to clubs and large urban spaces.
However, in every country or city, efforts are made to maintain a recognizable festival style: a carefully selected electronic music program, impressive scenography, and a strong sense of place. The environment is not just a neutral background for performers – it becomes an equal part of the event.

The international recognition of “Zamna” has also been boosted by electronic music names who have appeared on its stages. Over the years, the festival programs have featured Black Coffee, Tale Of Us, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Solomun, Peggy Gou, Boris Brejcha, Paul Kalkbrenner, ARTBAT, and other global artists.
Tulum has also become a space for other well-known electronic music projects to perform. “Afterlife”, “Circoloco”, and the “Tomorrowland” stage “CORE” have presented their events or special programs here.
Visual, natural, recognizable experience

The mood of Tulum on the Mediterranean coast
The “Zamna On The Beach” event taking place in Malta on August 9th will be somewhat different from the festival events in the jungles of Mexico, but its creators promise to maintain the main elements of the “Zamna” experience.
This time, the Mediterranean Sea and the sunset will become a natural part of the scenography. The event in the “Palm Beach” area will start at 4 PM and continue until midnight. Thus, the daytime program will be replaced by a lively night party during the event.
This festival format well reveals the most important “Zamna” idea: music should not separate from the place but adapt to it. In Tulum, the experience includes the jungle, while in Malta – the beach, the sea, and the setting summer sun.
