The new prime minister’s advisor worked as Minister of Health in the cabinets of Prime Ministers Gintautas Paluckas and Inga Ruginienė.
This year, with the change of coalition, the portfolio of the Ministry of Health went to the Democratic Union “Vardan Lietuvos”, and Linas Kukuraitis took the minister’s chair.

Before entering politics, 48-year-old M. Jakubauskienė worked as the director of the Institute of Health Sciences at Vilnius University’s Faculty of Medicine, and as an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine.
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Public Health from Vilnius University and has a PhD in biomedical sciences. In 2019, she also completed Master’s studies in Business Administration at Vilnius University Business School.
