The absolutely fastest in the prologue was the Pole Adam Kuś with a lighter “Challenger” class “Taurus” buggy.

The second result was achieved by Polish motorsport legend Krzysztof Hołowczyc, called “Hołek” by fans. He has won “Baja Poland” ten times.

This year, “Baja Poland” features a very large and strong lineup of participants. A total of 194 athletes from 13 countries and 104 vehicles registered for all competition categories. In the FIA European Baja Cup stage, 28 crews compete, of which 16 start in the most powerful “Ultimate” category. The short and specific prologue favored lighter equipment, and crews starting later could take advantage of a somewhat cleaner trajectory. For B. Vanagas and A. Paliukėnas, the most important battle is in the FIA European Baja Cup – they arrived in Poland leading the season in the “Ultimate” category.

“A good start, but the prologue is only the first task of the weekend. The FIA European Baja Cup and the “Ultimate” classification are most important to us. Tomorrow awaits a completely different race – almost 300 kilometers of speed sections at the Drawsko Pomorskie military training ground. There, not only speed but also stability and equipment preservation will be needed,” says Benediktas Vanagas, who achieved the highest result in the Dakar car category among Baltic athletes.

On Friday evening, the fastest prologue crews will choose their starting positions for Saturday, and the official “Baja Poland” opening ceremony will take place in Szczecin. On Saturday, the main battle will move to the Drawsko Pomorskie military training ground, where crews will complete two laps of a 149.75 km speed section.
