The Slovenian achieved his best result on the last, sixth attempt. It was his only throw that exceeded the 70-meter mark.

K. Čeha demonstrated a very consistent series overall. Besides the winning 70.46 m result, he threw the discus 68.12, 69.34, 68.40, and 69.43 meters. One attempt was not counted.

The Slovenian outperformed his closest competitor by a huge margin. The second place was taken by Chilean representative Claudio Romero, who reached 62.64 meters with his best attempt.

“The competition was quite good. Although the warm-up was good, I lacked energy. There was also not much competition and fewer spectators compared to the biggest competitions in Croatia. I hoped to throw the discus over 70 meters and I achieved that. It is a good result that is not easy to reach,” K. Čeha said after the victory.

The Slovenian has one more start left this season – on Saturday he will compete in Lithuania, where the competition will be much tougher.

There K. Čeha will face the world record holder Mykolas Alekna and Paris Olympic champion Jamaican Roje Stone.

“Now on Saturday I have the last competition of the season in Lithuania. I would like to throw the discus over 70 meters again. The world record holder Mykolas Alekna, who will compete at home, will also be there. The Olympic champion from Jamaica Roje Stone will come as well, so the competition will be very strong,” the Slovenian said.
