Greek “Sportal” reported that “Panathinaikos” is targeting both Sylvain Francisco and Nigel Williams-Goss.
The latter point guard has a valid contract with Kaunas “Žalgiris”.
“The Greens of Panathinaikos have already made an offer for the American, and negotiations have progressed,” writes “Sportal” about the situation between “Panathinaikos” and “Žalgiris” regarding N. Williams-Goss. “However, he has a contract with “Žalgiris”, and departure requires negotiations with the Lithuanian team and payment of a buyout.”
Last year, N. Williams-Goss transferred from Piraeus “Olympiakos” to Kaunas “Žalgiris”. Last season, he was the most expensive player of “Žalgiris”, earning about one million euros per season.
The 31-year-old point guard, who signed a three-year contract, scored 11.5 points and made 3.9 assists per game for the Kaunas team in the EuroLeague.

“Žalgiris” finished fifth in the EuroLeague regular season, while “Panathinaikos”, which has one of the largest budgets in the EuroLeague, finished seventh.

“Panathinaikos” has already signed contracts with several basketball players this summer, including Gershon Yabusele and Isaac Bonga.
The Athens club is also courting Sylvain Francisco.

The Frenchman, who was a leader of “Žalgiris”, agreed at the beginning of the summer to transfer to Villeurbanne ASVEL, when the French club, planning new high revenues, offered a 4 million euro annual salary, but the Tony Parker-led team is struggling to raise the desired funds.
According to “Sportal”, if ASVEL does not meet S. Francisco’s financial expectations, “Panathinaikos” is first in line to acquire the French guard.
